Welcome to Australia’s Social Pulse, a rigorous, accessible, ongoing measurement of the nation’s social progress.
At the Centre for Social Impact, our mission is to improve beneficial social impact in Australia. Part of that mission means understanding - and reporting on - social outcomes. We want to know if outcomes across Australia are improving, if complex social problems are being addressed, and whether society is getting stronger. Evaluation of investments in social areas is also key to understanding if those investments are achieving their aims. A cohesive, reliable and accessible source that tracks our social progress is crucial to improving social impact. Australia’s Social Pulse is that source.
Building on existing Australian social statistics, Australia’s Social Pulse measures changes over time in key social indicators across a range of domains. It investigates associations between outcomes and community, household, and individual characteristics. It indicates how particular population groups fare relative to the average to provide an in-depth understanding of the nation’s social progress.
Australia's Social Pulse provides a measurement of then and now, with a view for a better, brighter future for all Australians.
